Avoid behaviors that can be misconstrued:. Do not be alone with a student with the door closed. Do not meet students outside of school. Do not engage in conversations regarding romantic or sexual activities. Do not exchange phone numbers with students without parental consent

The code of ethics is expected conduct that all educators are to follow. The goal is to protect the freedom to learn and teach, to ensure equal educational opportunities for all, and to foster respect and confidence among colleagues, students, and parents.
