Systems of langauges and language structure

The branch of linguistics concered with how words are structured. Morphemes, the smallest grammatical unit in a language. There are two types, Lexical and Functional Moprhemes.

Concerned with the physical, or acousstic properties of speech. SOund and the rules that determine how those sounds are combined in speech

Phonology

The arragement of words and phrases to create well formed sentences in a language. In the English language; subject, verb and object.

The Branch of linguistics concered with meaning.

The branch of linguistics dealing with language in use and the context in which it is used; taking turns in conversation and text organization.
