First Symptoms: chancre sores and swelling of nearby lymph glands.Sencondary Symptoms: non-itchy rash, sore throat, headaches, tiredness and swollen lymph glands.*Less Frequent Symptoms: fever, aches, aching joints, weight loss, hair loss, or lesions.

Ways to prevent it: Ask your partner to get tested before having sexual relations with them, keep your sexual partners to a minimum if at all possible

You can contract Syphilis from having oral, vaginal or anal sex with someone who is infected. Condoms only prevent Syphilis if the sores are covered. The main cause of Syphilis is sexual intercourse.Children can also contract this disease from their mothers in childbirth. Syphilis in babies can cause serious health problems or death. This is called congenital syphilis.

There are 2 different types of ways to get tested for Syphilis. The first being a blood test and, the second being doctors taking swabs from sores that you may have.
