Support of Evolution

Homologous structures are deprived from common ancestral structures showing we have kept some of the same abilities over time. An analogous structure found in two different speciesserves the same function in two speciesbut is not deprived from a common ancestral structure. An analogous structure found in two different species, serves the same function in two speciesbut is not derived from a common ancestral structure.A vestigial structure is one that has marginal, if any use to the organism in which it occurs. These structures are all causes of evolution due to the change of adaptions and the traits past down genertations. It helps us realize we all have common ancestors!

The ones who adapt to their environment easier are the ones who survive longer and reproduce more offspring. This idea explains natural selection with survival of the fittest. Chromosome patterns show similar structures that provide proof to the theory of evolution. Biogeography is the branch of biology that deals with the geographical distribution of plants and animals.

The fossil record shows evidence of change in the past. Also, it was proof of transition from sea creatures to land animals. Fossils are able to tell numerical timelines and dates of when they were created. Plate tectonics can affect the distribution of a species.
