Family of Seven Takes a Road TripOn August 6, 2011 Ms. Peterson traveled to Tybee Island, Georgia to spend a week on the beach . She and her three children, Chance, Phoebe, and Owen along with her boyfriend Marc, and two of his daughters, Abi and Chloe traveled over twenty hours by van to stay in Dulaney Cottage. Despite motion sickness, jellyfish stings, cuca rochas, and the prickly pear cactus incident, fun was had by all. Some highlights were watching the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean, a trolley tour of Savannah, a dolphin boat tour, Fort Pulaski, Tybee Island lighthouse, and eating LOTS of ice cream. There were two surprise activities while on the road. One was horseback riding in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee and the other was visiting the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, Kentucky. The most unusual sight was the four hundred pound black bear in the dumpster at the Best Western in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The group looks forward to their next trip in the spring of 2012.
