- Flesh eating bacteria - Grow in long chains - It is located in the back of the nose - Usually passed by coughing and sneezing - Strep built recistance to many drugs doctors have made

- Discovered in 1881 by Louis Pasteur - There are three types of streptococcus: alpha, beta and gamma - Strep causes: sore throat, fever, inflamed lymph nodes - If not treated can cause rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, toxic shock syndrome, tonsillites - Strep is most commonly found in children - Strep is treated with a series of antibiotics - Strep can be found in animals and humans
