Although starfish can Asexualy reproduse they can also do it sexualy. They gather in groups and release both sperm and eggs into the water.

Starfish can reproduce asexualy through autotomy. This is where an arm is shed and then grows it's own arms and central disc.

Starfish can regenerate an arm into a whole new body as long as the part cut off includes part of the central disc. If you were to cut a starfish down the middle into many parts each part would regrow into a new starfish.
