STAMP ACTStamp Act

The Stamp Act started on March 22, 1765. Ships papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, even playing cards were taxed.

The British Parliament started the Stamp Act with George Grenvill's (King Georeg's chief cabint minister) support.

They did the Stamp Act because the British thougt they could get away with taxing colonies so the British would have more money and power.

The Stamp Act took place everywhere in the colonies in America

You had to carry a pocketbook that said if you payed the tax for the thing. You were given a stamp if you did pay for it.
