Question: How does ethnic diversity (language) of your country reflect cultural diffusion?Cultural Diffusion is spreading the culture of your country and by that influencing the culture of other countries. This occurred to Nigeria : Its language was changed by European settlers such as British and French. First, the country started of only with three main native languages which are Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. In the 18th century, though the first British settler arrived and claimed the southern Nigerian land and he northern part was governed by France. In the early 20th century, Britain took control of all Nigeria and English became its official language. Even though the country is independent now, the official language of Nigeria still remains English. Through the impact of the European settlers the language of Nigeria changed, this is where cultural diffusion is reflected.
