In Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, teen Melinda Sordino is shunned at high school as a newcoming freshman. She has called the cops on a summer party and everyone despises her. She lost all of her friends and is having trouble making new ones. But she didn't call the cops for the heck of it. Something happened. And she is too scared to tell the truth. But in the end, it is up to her to SPEAK. Can she do it?
