The Structure of the Universe

A Star's Flux

Stars, and what they're made of

The Different Planets in our Solar System

How the Solar System Works

* The flux of a star is, the rate per unit area, that a star's energy/brightness hits a surface that is perpendicular to the star's rays* Flux is measured in watts per square meter* We measure our sun's brightness and power by using flux* We use solar panels to capsure the sun's power, and then we use it for power* Flux is also used to calculate the brightness of other stars

* Scientists believe that the Universe was created by an explosion, they provoe this statement because there are many galaxies that were scattered around it* The Universe is very, very large, with billions of galaxies in it* The Universe is said to be constantly expanding* Some scientists believe that the Universe is in the shape of a sphere, but others scientists believe that it has no shape and is never ending* There are also other theories that the Universe just loops when you get to the end of it

* The main part of a solar system is its star* Our solar systems star is called the sun* All stars are divided into six groups, based on their brightness* Our star isnt as bright as many other stars* Stars are made up of many different gases* Also stars have a gravitational pul that keeps other planets orbit around it* When a star grows old it explodes forming a black hole thats sucks everything near it in.

* There are a total of 8 planets in out solar system * This includes Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune* Each planet has its own eliptical path, or orbit, around the sun* Scientists belive that the planets were formed by small particles mixing with condensation* Each planet it made of different materials and gases* Almost every planet in our solar system has a moon, or many moons

* The solar system contains one star, 8 planets, and three dwarf planets* Also our solar system contains, meteors, moons, satellites, asteroids, and comets* There is also floating debre* All the planets orbit the sun* The planets also follow their own eliptical paths* The sun has a gravitational pull that keeps the planets on their path
