Some properties of solutions

When the temperature of a solution is decreased, the kinetic energy of the molecules of the liquid decrease. As the speed of the particles decreases the attractive forces between particles become more effective and the existence of the solute particles makes it difficult for the solvent particles to come together.

It is the minimum pressure which needs to be applied to a solution to prevent inward flow of a water across a semipermeable membrane.

Some Properties Of Solutions

When a non-volatile solute is added to a pure solvent the boiling point increases. The resons for this is; the particles of the non-volatile solute gets between the particles of the solvent which makes it harder to break the bonds. So the boiling point gets higher.

Boiling-Point Elevation

Freezing-Point Depression

Osmotic Pressure
