Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus on a large area of sunlight into a small beam.

What I think will happen?

1)With plenty of growth over the last decade, more energy is needed. It’s as competitive as fossil fuels now, as it becomes cheaper to produce. 2)Today's technology allows us to harness this resource in several ways, giving the public and commercial with flexible ways to employ both the light and heat of the sun.Advantages: It is renewable, cost efficient after installing, free sunlight, non-polluting and maintenance-free and the cleanest energy.Disadvantages: However, there would be limited land space, extreme cost of installtion and inconsistant supply of energy produced only in the day.Singapore can change the buses which are used now into electric buses which Malacca is using now by converting the sunlight into electricity.

Results1)In Malacca, the project on using electric buses is successful because of their long distance roads since they are not so developed yet. They are also not very big on using transport but it helps to save abit so in Singapore, it might help more.2) Malacca's biodiesel project is successful as many uses vehicles on the road and if everyone uses cars with biodiesel, the carbon emission will decrease by alot.Challenges that might be faced by Singapore1) Space to install solar panels might not be enough as Singapore is small and not many places can be fitted to install solar panels.2) Biodiesel is more expensive than normal diesel as it is newly developed and new engines meant for biodiesel cannot be used by other types of diesels.

Alternatively, Biodiesel can be another solution, if there is more demand that supply for solar energy. Biodiesel is a fuel made from a vast variety of vegetable or animal oils, such as soybean, sunflower or canola oil. It can also be made from waste cooking grease and non-food grade nuts or seeds. The more biodiesel we use, the less dependent we are on foreign, petroleum based oil.Advantages: Biodiesel is a substitute for diesel and will burn in ANY diesel engine without the need to convert the engine. Biodiesel burns 78% cleaner than regular diesel and is a sustainable resource. Biodiesel also has a higher lubricity rate making it better for the life of your engine than regular diesel. It is also biodegradable. It is also much cheaper than other fossil fuels and lower carbon emission.disadvantages: high initial investment is often required for the necessary factories to be built. As Biodiesel cleans the dirt from the engine, this dirt can then get collected in the fuel filter, thus clogging it. So, filters have to be changed after the first several hours of biodiesel use. Also, it requires energy to produce biodiesel fuel from soy crops etc.

1)The project on electric buses has a possibilty of being successful as Singapore uses more public transport than Malacca and there will be more eco- friendly vehicles.2) Singapore can succeed in using biodiesel too. As we have already started using it on cars, this can also prevent more air pollution in the future compared to oil.
