Social Norms

Bystander Effect:a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer anymeans of help to a victim when other people are present. The probability of help is inversely related to the number of bystanders.

Conformity:compliance with standards, rules, or laws.

Social Norms:the rules of behavior that are considered acceptable in a group or society. People who do not follow these norms may be shunned or suffer some kind of consequence.

Impacts on Society:Our society starts getting weaker a more dangerous because of the bystander effect. People ignore other people in need, which causes aggressors to harm more because they are not getting punished for their actions. If individuals in society do not care about other people, how can we make our society a safe, harmonic place?

Impacts on Society:Our society is being impacted by social conformity because everybody is sticking to one person’s model which makes the society plain and simple. Everybody looks the same which is definitely not unique or healthy. Even though this might look as a negative impact, it is also positive because when people conform to society, it makes them feel welcomed into the society.

Causes: The bystander effect happens because of the cultural manifestation of the act that is taking place or of the sociologycal thinking on when they need to act on the situation. this is mainly caused by the way the people are learned to act based on a situation happening

Causes:The cause are that people often follow what most people are doing mostly because they want to fit on society or they want to belong to a group. It is caused by mostly an important model on society.

Solutions:Some solutions are that you get on a support group to help you get back your own personality and dont follow others'. This effect dosent have like a specific solution because comformity can be positive, or negative.

Solutions:There are 7 different types of solutions. witnesing helping behavior, being obseverant, guilt, being skilld and nowlagbel, having personal relationship, seeing others as deserving help, and feeling good.
