Social Justice Leadership

Social Justice LeadershipA Personal Philosophy

"Transformative Leadership" (Shields, 2010)

(Liberatory Love, 2015)

Social justice leadership defies oppression; it fights against multifaceted tyranny, and combats dystopian paradigms conditioned and institutionalized by the ruling class and gender.

Achieving social justice leadership begins by implementing the progressive ideology of transformative leadership, which requires the profound reconstruction of existing societal conditions that elude equity (Shields, 2010). By upholding an unstoppable initiative for true justice and unbotched democracy, an era of inclusive and equal education will ensue, ultimately developing our society toward a holistically integrated, egalitarian environment.

Reaching this evolved state will allow the people an unfailingly equal and shared set of rules and principles, now ready to experience the attributes of transformational leadership, which, in my philosophical considerations, can only be applied once the transformative system of an emancipated society, freed from the injustices and constant societal tensions, has been reached (Shields, 2010). The addition of transformational leadership to the new paradigm will instill a revolutionized vow of working toward shared objectives, enhancing individual creativity and intellectual incitation, upheld by the drive of organization and functionality (Peters, 2010).

Recognizing the need for critical interrogation of the existing societal inequities is essential for setting a foundation for social justice leadership, as critical interrogation will enable the tool of courage, countering paradigmal fears of injustice and violence felt by the oppressed, to be therefore used to fight against exclusivity. Critical interrogation requires advocates who are willing to speak out against marginalized and oppressive channels within the educational, workplace, patriarchial and justice systems, and uphold an acute determination to regularly assess and communicate the need for socially responsive pedagogies for inclusive educational growth and societal development, which nurture the heterogeneous environment, allowing for the construction of a holistic community based upon the principles of equity and unchallenged solidarity (Dantley & Tilman, 2010).

The ultimate consummation of social justice will be realized when transformative leadership is no longer needed; when society has reached a newly conditioned, inclusive paradigm. Stand. Speak. Act. Unite.Samantha FrazierEOL 568
