Slope Intercept Form can be used to graph an equation. You are given a slope (the rise and run) and a y-intercept (the piont where the line crosses the Y axis.

y=2x-4 is an example of slope intercept form. It represents the equation of a line with a slope of 2 and a y intercept of -4.

y=5x+8 is an example of slope intercept form. It represents the equation of a line with a slope of 5 and a y intercept of 8.
