Slavery: Carla Delgadillo

By: Carla Delgadillo

Garrison chose not to speak about Northern racism. Abolitionists demanded for recognition and mutual respect. They were trying to come up with strategies against slavery. "The world has gone forth that you shall be delivered from your chains, it has not been spoken in vein."

Slavery

Calhoun states that the South needed special protection in the Federal Union. He beliebed that slavery is an institution the benefited everyone involved. "We must meet our enemy in the frontier with fixed determination of maintaining our position at every hazard."

Hammond believe that in all social systems, there must be a class to do the menial duties and to perform the drudgery of life. "The weapons with which the abolitionists seek to effect your deliverance are not bowie knives, pistols, swords or any other deadly implements."
