Sir Walter Raleigh

SIR WALTER RALEIGH

Walter was born in 1552 in Devon, England. He was the youngest of five brothers. His mother was Catherine Champernowne.

He was an english adventurer and writer that established a colony in present day Virginia.

On October 29 1618 Sir Walter Raleigh was executed under the charge of treason 15 years earlier.

He went on two voyages, his first was in 1587 to establish the first settlment in america,known as roanoke island, the second was in 1595 in search of El Dorado.He sailed for england.
