Sir Trevor Macdonald
First black anchorman on BBC TV in England
He was born in Trinidad, which is off the Northern coast of South America.
The oldest of four other siblings.
He often won local speaking competitions
"We lived in a terribly small house with cracks in the walls, which we used to paper over with newspaper."
Trevor's dad, Lawson, was an oil refiner and raised pigs
His Job
He began his news career in Trinidad
Trevor started working in the Carribean ranks before relocating to London in 1969.
In London, he joined BBC TV and moved his way up the ranks and soon enough became the sole presenter of ITN's News at 10.
