Sir Isaac Newton
Though Newton was born on January 4th, 1643, his birthday is often recorded as December 25th, 1642 because Europe had not yet adopted the Gregorian Calendar. His father, who was also named Isaac Newton, died three months before he was born. Isaac was a very small baby because he was premature. His mother claimed that you could fit him into a Pint glass. When he had grown, his mother met another man and remarried. Isaac was never too fond of his stepfather, and had once threatened to burn the house down around them.
Education
Early Years
Isaac entered Cambridge University in 1661 at the age of 18. Newton studied the works of scientists, Robert Boyle, and Robert Hooke. While he was still just a student, Newton had been conducting all sorts of tests with the colors of the light spectrum and mathematical patterns of colors and whatnot. He did his famous test with the glass prism to show that white light refracted, reveals a mixture of many different colors of light. In 1667 he was elected as a fellow of trinity college, and became a Lucasian Mathematics Proffessor in 1669.
Discovery of Gravity
There are many different stories as to how Isaac Newton discovered gravity but the most common of them is that, Isaac was visiting an orchard (or just happened to be sitting under an apple tree) and a gust of wind blew an apple down. He looked up at the sky and saw the moon (the moon happened to be showing in the day time). He theorized that, if an apple were thrown hard and long enough from where i began, enough to send it around the curve of the planet, it would never fall, for it would be caught in a gravitational pull.
These are just the begining of the list of Newton's achievments, I just listed the Basics
