Electricity is energy. Machines and gadgets eat electricity to keep them going. Electricity that reaches your home, bussiness, or school travels through a circuit (a conductor) and the "battery" that supplies it is called a power plant. This is known as current electricity. All the wires and poles we see all around are the electrical transmission and distribution system, also know as the way electricity is brought to us and able to be used when we need it.

A circuit can also contain other electrical components such as bulbs, buzzers, or motors for electricity to pass through.

Electricity can be conserved in numerous ways. Walk, ride your bicycle, or take the bus instead of always going by car. Turn off lights, radio, TV, and the computer when not using them.
