Guru Nanak was the founder of sikhism.
~They believe in one God, Vāhigurū, who is shapeless and sightless
The Gurdwara is a worship place. Any building where the Guru Granth Sahib is held, is a place of worship. Services are usually held on Sunday. Meditating is a method of praise used at home.
The Khanda is a symbol used insikhism that has a lot of symbolic meaning.
Punjabi is the sikhism language written in the Gurmukhi script.
There are many required garments that the sikh poeple wear. They wear a loose undergarment, wooden comb, iron bangle, they don't cut their hair, and they even carry around swords!
Only vegetarian food is eaten in the temple, buteating meat is not prohibited. Most Sikh peopleavoid eating meat because of their Hindu neighbors.
Baisakhi is one of the festivals that thesikh people celebrate. It's the sikh new year,celebrated on April 13 or 14. It was originally a harvest festival, but now is the most important festival that takes place. They dance and sing as a way to celebrate.
