Sickle cell is a group of disorders thats affects the red blood cells that delivers oxygens throughtout the body. Most common sickle cell is Hemoglobin S, which cause a normal blood cell and changes its shape.

-Pains in joints and bones - Dizziness, fatigue, fever, dehydrations-Shortness of breath, Swelling

You are born with sickle cell. Its most common in African Americans. It is caused by a genetic abnormality in the gene for hemoglobin, which causes sickle hemoglobin. When the oxygen is released from sickle hemoglobin, it sticks together and forms long rods, which damages and changes the shape of a normal blood cell.
