Character Descriptions:Sherlock: He is very good at his deductions. He calls others dumb because they fail to notice the obvious from something right in front of them.As when he tells Watson,"On the contrary, Watson, you can see everything. You fail however to reason from what you see.(155)" He is very vain, and loves to have his company stay quiet while he thinks.Watson:He is not unlike a pet to Sherlock. But he injoys the adventure all the same. He is amazed by Sherlcok constantly and loves to hear him solve the cases. For example, when the author writes,"'Now , Watson,'...'You'll come with me won't you?", and Watson reeplies,"If I can be of use.(131)" Even though his wife and others were expecting him, he chose to go with sherlock instead.

6 WORD STORY:Sherlock Holmes is the best detective.

Text to self connection:Reading Sherlock Holmes makes the reader realize that they are not the best in the world. Their will always be a Sherlock to them and you will never beat everyone in the world at everything. And you will never be the worst at everything either. Their will always be someone that can be better and worse than you at the same time."To take the first example to hand, I very clearl percieve that in your bedroom the window is upon the right hand side, and yet I question whether Mr. Lestrade would have noted even so self-evident a thing as that."

Notes

Review

SherlockSir Arthur Conan Doyle

I enjoyed this book very much, Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite fictional characters, and I would definetly reccomend his stories to others. The characters and plot of the book are all very well developed, and the book is nicely written. I would probably read this book or a book like it again.I give it a 4 out of 5 rating.
