The Shang (1750 BCE-1027 BCE)

Food: the Shang mainly ate pigs, chickens, amd millet

Tombs:The Shang kings interseaded with the gods so they were baried with riches including bronze vessals. The tomb pictured is of Fu Mao who was King Wu Ding's militant consort. Unlike other tombs hers was undisturbd by grave robbers

Warriors:During the Shang period there were many military conquests, expanding the empire greatly. Also because of the importance of military conquests, warriors were culturally dominant. This map shows the area controlled by the Shang which was located on the North China Plain, along the Yellow River.

CultureThe Shang wrote using a system of pictograms similar to the system used in china today. They also made ornate crafts, the niced or which were made from jade or bronze. The later being a very valuable metal during that time period.

Tools:Used stone tools for farming and build kilms for firing potery and Walls of pounderd earth for protection.
