William Shakespeare is perhaps the most quoted author and well known of all literature. His plays are represented throughout the world and are universally famous.His life: Shakespeare was born in 1564, in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, a rich English town. At the age of eighteen, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had a daughter named Susanna, and twins, Hammet and Judith. Without knowing very well the reason, Shakespeare decided to leave his hometown and move to London to work in the theater.His life: Shakespeare is famous for 38 plays. While living in London, wrote about two per year. He never published, but was represented in The Globe and other London theaters. Later, he retired to Stratford, where he lived without economic problems. He died in 1616, the same year that Cervantes.Two actors catered to publish their works. A collection called First Folio was born seven years after his death. The works of Shakespeare amused and entertained the audience. For most people of his time, were mere entertainment, like movies today. But Shakespeare was also a deep thinker. In his works, he created a variety of characters that seem alive. In addition, the richness of his language is striking. Shakespeare's works reflect many aspects of human life.His works: funny and sympathetic wrote comedies such as A Midsummer Night's Dream (1595), Much Ado About Nothing (1599) and As You Like It (around 1600). His tragedies dealing with issues such as power, betrayal, revenge and love. The most famous are Romeo and Juliet (1595), Hamlet (around 1601), Othello (around 1604), King Lear (1605) and Macbeth (around 1606). In his spare time, he also wrote poetry. The 154 love sonnets are among the most famous love poems of all time.
