Shae's Glog

Characteristics: soft, pale yellow, odorless, burns a blue flame

Used to make gunpowder, some fertilizers, sulfuric acid, and bleach

Earth's crust is only .05% sulfur. It is mined by using the Frasch process, when heated water is forced into well sunk in salt domes to melt the sulfur. The water is then brought back to the surface.

Sulfur is found near volcano vents and hot springs. It is realeased as a gas, but turns into a solid once it coools off. Traces of sulfur are found in many minerals such as galena, pyrite, gypsum, and several others.
