Writing about Setting:

On your Guide to Setting packet, find the Writing About Setting section. In the first part, you will describe what setting you are in right now using your own descriptions. Some questions to ask yourself are: Where am I? Where is that located? What day/month/year is it? What time of day is it? What is going on around me? What kinds of events are happening right now? What does the environment look, feel, and sound like? Describe everything relating to time, place, and situation.

Think about your setting. In the second section, you will write about the ways your life could be different if you changed part of the setting. Choose three things to change and write about the effects of these changes. How would something diffferent affect who you are and what you are doing right now? Some things to think about are: How would your life be different if you weren't sitting where you are right now? What about if you lived in another state, or country? Look at the clock, if it were five hours from now, what would change? What about a hundred years foward or backwards?
