2.4 Sedimantary RockBy: Gracie K

Vocab:Weathering: chemical and physical processes that break down rock ' other substancesErosion: process by whichwater, ice, wind, or gravity move weathered particles of rock ' soil.Deposition: process by which sediment settles out of the water or wind carrying it.Compaction: the process by that presses sediment together.Cementation: process in which dissolved minerals crystallize and glue particles of sediment together

What are the three major groups of sedimantary rocks? clastic, organic, and chemical rocks.

How Sedimentary Rocks are used?Sedimantary rocks has been used alot in history especially for tools and building materials.

How do sedimantary Rocks form: Sedimantary Rocks form when sediment is deposited by water and wind. Sediment: is small, solid peices of material that come from rocks or living things. Most sedimantary rocks are formed through: weathering, erosion, deposition, compaction, and cementation.

Key Concept 3:

Science ' BibleIsaiah 22:10 You counted the buildings in Jerusalem and tore down houses to strengthen the wall. This connnects to sedimentary rocks because people have used sedimentary rocks to build buildings in history.Genesis 4:22 Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah.they also used sedimentary rocks in history for tools

Chemical Rock: forms when minerals dissolve in a water solution crystallize

Clastic Rock: sedimantary rock formed when rock fragments are squeezed together.

Organic Rock: formed where the remains of plants and anikmals are deposited in layers
