Cyber SafetyThe Internet can be used as an educational tool for children. But the internet is not all that safe, they can communicate with strangers, search inappropriate websits and share personal information. Parents and teacher can teach children about how to be safe and how to use the internet appropriately. Parent can sit their young childern down and show them how to use the internet properly. They can set rules for their child on what websites they can visit and what to do when they stubble upon a inappropriate website. Parents should limit their child’s use of the Internet. When childern are on the Internet parent shouldkeep them in the line of site and keep constant check of the browsers history. When their children creats accounts on social networks parents need to get all their paswords and user names so parents can keep track of who they are talking to.Parents need to teach their children not to share personal information on the internet. Teachers need to set up internet guidelines to teach students how to use technology appropriatly. Teachers need to make a information security curriculum that will teach students how to create a strong password to protcet themselves againts hackers, how to use the Internet in a responsible way and communicating online safely.Teacher need to talk to students how to be responsible on the internet for example students should not share personal information if they do not want their teachers or parents to see. Next teachers need to teacher students to respect other students private information for example if another student forgot to log off after they are done, the next person to use the computer should log the other use off. Students should not copy a program from a friend because it is illegal and they should not download off the internet. Students should not go on websites that are not educational during school time. Students need to be taught how to tell the difference between credit websites and noncredit ones. Teachers are not allowed to share their student’s information on the internet or use their accounts. To protect children for their information from being used by others a bill called the A592: Prohibits Dissemination. This bill says that the school shall not disclose personal information about a student on the school website without receiving prior written consent from the students parent or legal guarding.

SecurityParents can make sure their childern in grades K-12 are secure on websites by putting up a parental block on their child’s device. This will limit the child’s freedom on the Internet and insure that their child is using age appropriate websites. Parents can keep constant check of what websites their child visits. Parents need to get their child’s passwords and usernames for all of the websites they signed up for so they can check who their child speaks to and what they do on the internet when they are not around. Students need to learn about the cop right laws. Cop right laws protect individual’s property from other stealing it. Students need to ask permission to use other people’s information or give credit for using other peoples work by siting it. If students use others information without permission they will get introuble for it. Schools keep students safe from hackers by network administrators at schools keep track of what websites student’s visit to insure their systems integrity. Schools block websites that are not appropriate for children to see or are not trust worthy. Students are taught not to connect outside devices to schools computer to upload things to use on their computers at home because this can spread viruses.
