*Born July 22, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma*Married David Inhofe*One child, Nicholas David Inhofe, born August 1983*She always enjoyed reading, but didn't enjoy the literature that was written for young adults. This influenced her choice to write novels.*She was 15 when she first started writing the first draft of "The Outsiders." It took her a year and a half to finish the novel.
