[2014] Jakelyne Mata Martinez (4th period): school before and after the 1950's

School before and after the 1950's

This is going to be about how black people were treated unfairly by the white's and how they were segregated.

Time Line

A similarity between the 1950's and now 2015 is that we still have buses but they're yellow instead of white and they're also bigger compered to the 1950's buses were small.

In the 1950's black and white students were seperated in school. In the present colored people and white students are allowed to study together in the same school's. like at Sparks Middle School.

In conclusion, in the 1950's black and white students were seperated however, now in 2015 black students are allowed to study with the white students.

The person who fought for black peple to have same equal rights as the white people such as education, health, etc. was, Martin Luther King. During the 1960's, otherwise colored people whould still be held against havig their equal rights. we colored people might of still been segerated from the whites and still be treated unfairly. which we still are kind of because of racism but, not as badly as it was back then.

At Sparks Middle School we have 6 clases per day, plus advisory which is considered 0 period, and we have different teachers for each class. This is different from the 1950's at the school Roll Of Thunder because they had one teacher all day in the same classroom with different grade level students.

Now here is something different from the 1950's and now. In the 1950's punisments were to bend over the "whipping chair" and now in 2015 are punisment is to get suspended, expelled, or get lunch detention.
