These are the ruins of ancient Troy in present-day Hisarlik, Turkey. Heinrich Schliemann located this site and began to excavate the ruins. It was later learned that the ancient city was built and rebuilt over the centuries.

This picture shows the archaeological plans of ancient Troy at Hisarlik, which lies 6.5 km from the Aegean Sea.

This picture represents some of the treasures found by Schliemann at the site of ancient Troy. To the right, Sophia Schliemann is seen wearing the treasure also known as the "Jewels of Helen".

This artifact was an amazing find by Heinrich Schliemann; it was found in one of the shaft graves that was excavated in Mycenae. Heinrich assumed that it was the mask of Agamemnon, who was the leader of the Greek forces during the Trojan war.

The paintings on this piece of pottery represent scenes from the Trojan War.
