Symptoms consist of fever, sore throat, chills, vomiting, abdominal pain, swollen tongue or tonsils. Treatments for these are antibiotics, bed rest, drink fluids, cool baths, and humidifier.

What is it and what causes it?Scarlet fever, known as scarlatina, is a bacterial infection caused by group A strep throat found in a person's nose and throat. The bacteria is spread through contact with an infected person's cough or sneeze.

Who gets it?People who already have strep infection and children from age 5 to 15 are most likely to get it.
