Scarlet Fever

How it progresses:1) On the first day a fever or sore throat will occur.2) Then a red rash appears on the face or chest by the second day.3) Then by the third day the rash spreads and the tongue should look bright red.

What is it?Scarlet Fever is an infectious bacterial disease which causes fever and a scarlet rash.

The most effected are children between 4-8 years old

Symptoms- A rash beginning in the chest or stomach area- Flushed face but pale around the lips- Sore throat that has white or yellow patches- Fever of 101F- Swollen glands in the neck- A white coating on the tongue

How to prevent it:Practice the usual hygiene--Wash your hands-Cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze- Don't share drinks and dining utensils.
