Semi-arid, with mild temperatures. There are two rainy seasons, a long one in March-May and a short one in November.
Poachers catch about 40,000 giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, impala, and zebras in the Serengeti National Park each year.
The savanna receives 27-40 inches of rain yearly.The Serengeti is the only place where large annual migrations of zebras and wildebeest still occur.
Elephants, lions, cheetahs, gazelles, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and impala can be found on the savanna.

Most plants on the savanna are grass. Acacia Senegal, candelabra tree, jackalberry tree, umbrella thorn acacia, whistling thorn, Bermuda grass, baobabs, and elephant grass are just some more examples.
