Sandro Botticelli

Sandro Botticelli was a Renaissance artist had a lasting impacts on European arts. He was born in Florence, Italy sometime in the mid 1400's. Botticelli was a painter during the Renaissance. He did not recieve anny formal education in the arts, but he apprenticed to Fra Filippo Lippi. Lippi also was Botticelli inspiration for pursueing painting as a career. Lippi taught him many things that were unique at the time. Later in his life, Botticelli got his own studio were he worked on his masterpieces.

Sandro Botticelli's artwork showed new techniques and skill that had a distinguishabllle impact on Renaissaince art. He began a new artistic movement that combined mythology and humanism into a peice on art. This was called Neoplatonism, this style of art was used in most of the art from the Renaissaince period.

During the Renaissance period in Florence, Italy, Botticelli created many masterpieces. These pieces include works such as the Primavera, The Birth of Venus, Judith, and The Adoration of Magi. Many of these woorks demonstrated great skill and technique that was highly praised in Florence. Some of his most known pieces are the three frescos that he painted in the Sistine Chapel. Throughout his artistic career he created many masterpieces that were cherished at the time and are still loved now.
