"There is no such thing as failure, it's just giving up too soon", Jonas Salk said.

Jonas Salk

Jonas Salk found a vaccine for polio in 1953 when it was killing thousands and parylizing more.

Before finding a vaccine for polio, he discovered that there are three types of polio in 1947

Salk was born on October 28, 1914 and died on June 23, 1995.

Along with Thomas Francis Jr, he found a flu immunization in 1938.

He was awarded the Presedential Medal of Freedom in 1977.

Dr. Salk never patented the vaccine because he wanted it to be available to everyone. He did not even make money off of it. He was a very selfless man.
