The Salem Witch Trials were a series of trials from mulitple "supposed" witches. The story is that a few women went around acccusing people of witches, which then the authorities would take the "witches" to prison and keep them there until there trials. When they went to the trials they would be proven guilty or innocent by a few men who weren't trained lawyers. There would also be one witness who would say what "bad deed" they did. So at the end it ended up in one hundred being guilty, twenty executed, ten hung, one beat to death, four died in prison, and the rest escaped.
The impact on the town was a really huge thing because many people died since the women that were accusing people thought they were witches. So it left many families in sorrow since many family members died or were proven guilty.
