Rubric Requirements & Tips Basics of Glogster

You will research & present a hazardous material, in poster format. Use glogster or another medium of your choosing.

Brainstorm four different materials found in the workplace, school or home, that are potentially hazardous. (such as batteries and bleach - you can't use these)

Select one of the substances (from #1) and research its chemical and physical properties. Also, find out methods for reducing, recycling, or disposing of the substance.

Write a plan for reducing, recycling, and disposing of this substance. Include the following info: a) chemical and physical properties of the substance b) why care should be taken when disposing of the substance c) suggestions for reducing or recycling the substance.

Comment on whether you think the benefits of using such substances outweigh the risks? Should substances that are dangerous be banned from general use? Explain your reasoning.
