What is a Verb? - An action verb is a word that describes an action, state, or occurance. (kick, throw, catch, run, swim)- Linking verbs are connecting words that describe the subject.(is, went, am, be)

"Rules" of Grammar

Descritpive vs. PrescriptiveDescriptive - "Informal English" - more social Prescriptive - "Formal English" - more for education Not one person speaks the same way or values the same aspects of English. Whose to say what way is correct and how we should teach it?

What is a Noun? -A noun is a word that is used to identify a person, place, or thing.(school, cat, tree, park, table)- A proper noun is a specific name of a person, place, pr an object. (Greensboro College, Addidas)
