The Roman Empire (Chapter Five)
Leadership:Seven kings of Rome between 753 and 507 BCE: First was Romulus and the last was Tarquinius SuperbusBetween 88-31 BCE: Sulla, Pompey, Julius Caesar, Mark Anthony, Octavion
This will describe the Roman Empire from the years 753 BCE - 600 CE. The environment, which was one of the reasons for it's success, was surrounded by mountains, rivers, hills - all perfect for agriculture, trade, and a sustainable area for those to settle and live.
The fall of Rome:There were several reasons for the fall of Rome. The overexpansion of the empire led them vunerable to invaders and have a weak, unstable government that wasn't centralized. Also, economic turmoil led to the decline of Rome, as farmers returned from war, they came home to property that was owned by someone else, and jobs were taken by prisoners of war. The spread of Christianity also lessened the power of the emporer.
Beliefs:Romans believed in numinia, which are invisible forces in our world. They also tried to sustain Pax Deorum (peace of the gods) which was a covenant between gods and the Roman state.
