The Pysics Behind The Fun
How are riders forced in their seat when going through a big loop? G-Foce is what keeps the riders pushed to their seats. Riders experience these positive G's when the coaster changes direction quickly. The Negative G's are felt at the top of a hill right at the drop. The feeling of a negative G (aka airtime) gives riders a weightless felling. Engineers utilize positive and negative G's to keep riders safe, but still have fun.
Gravity is the main component in making roller coaster work. Gravity forces the cart to speed up on the downhill and slow up hill & on loops. Engineers utilize gravity to make the roller coasters faster, safer, and more fun.

G-Force
Engineers apply their knowledge of potential and kinetice energy to create extreme speeds on roller coasters. The potential energy builds on the uphill and top of loops, and due to gravity this turns to kinetic energy on the downhill and second half of the loop

How Do They Launch?
Rollercoasters get that first big launch through strong magnets forcing against each other, and through the escape of compressed air.

The Kingda Ka at Six Flags shoots riders 456 ft high at speeds of 129mph through the use of strong magnets and comopressed air.
My Glog will describe the role physics plays in roller coasters and how engineers utilize their knowledge of physics to create a fun and safe experience for the rider
