Robert Louis Stevenson

The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde came from a nightmare of his. When he moved again to southern England he wrote Kidnapped. Stevenson's family was an engineering family.

Robert Louis Stevenson traveled around the world, writing about his adventures. He became famous for "Treasure Island" 1882. He also wrote: "Kidnapped" 1886, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" 1886.

Robert was born on November 13, 1850 in Edinburgh. He died on December 1894 in Vailima. Robert went to the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Academy. He was born sickly with Tuberculosis, barely able to stand at his wedding. Due to his illness the couple returned to Scotland. Robert died in Samoa at the age of 44.
