Robert Louis Stevenson was born on November 13, 1950 in Edinberg, Scotland. He was born very sick with Tuberculosis and suffered with it his whole life. Seeking a warmer climate, he moved to England and the French Riviera. It was there that he found inspiration for his first book, "An Inland Voyage". Barely able to stand at his wedding in 1880, the couple soon returned to Scottland due to his illness. After several moves and new books, he wrote "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" after having a terrifying nightmare. He continued to pen several more books before his death on December 3, 1894.
