A War LeaderBorden Led Canada through one of the most dificult times in history. He Managed its huge contribution to the war effort while managing growing social tensions and political problems in Canada. In May 1917 from a visit to London and to the battlefront in France convinced that Canada must make every effort, including conscription, and to maintain its forces overseas.

Robert Laird Borden was born June 26, 1854, in Nova Scotia. Borden was the 8th Prime minister of Canada and the last Prime Minister before the confederation. His portrait is also on the $100 bill.

Some of the most significant achievements of his time as Prime Minister was leading Canada through World War I, giving women the right to vote in 1918 and leading the Canadian delegation at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919.
