All About Mr. Dahl

Roald Dalh was born on September 13, 1916 in Llandaff, Cardiff. Dahl was a troublemaker as a child, and was even sent away to boarding school at a young age! He did not like the idea of going to college, so after graduating from high school, he went to work for Shell Oil. Looking for adventure, Dahl joined the Air Force in 1939, and even became a fighter pilot! His writing career began shortly after. He wrote for articles for magazines, and wrote his first children's story in 1942. Dahl's first 'breakthrough' boko came in 1961, when he published "James and the Giant Peach". Many of his books have even been made into popular movies. Dahl died on November 23, 1990, after publishing 19 children's books and 9 short story collections.
