GastronomySaucisson Chaud, a speciality of this region, consisting of large cured sausages dried for a few months and served hot. For cheese, Lyon is renowned for Saint-Marcellin cheese, a small and very famous cheese unique to the region, made famous by two wood cutters who saved the King from a bear.

For a salad, Salade Lyonnaise is served throughout France and originates from Rhône-Alpes. It consists of green salad, bacon strips and poached egg.
