The adult Rhinoceros Beetle can be up to 7" long. They are usually black or greenish in color. Males have a long horn like a Rhinorceros. The females do not have horns. They have two sets of wings and can fly.

Found mostly in South America. They spend 3 to 4 years as larva in rotten logs. The larvae eat the log. The adults eat fruit, nectar, and sap.

Beetle Competitions are held in some parts of the world

they can make a hissing sound by rubbing their wings together
