- mutation in RB1 gene - RB1 = tumor suppressor gene codes for regulating cell growth in immature retina cells.- loses ability to make protein that regulates cell growth.- tumor forms in retina- DISORDER IS DOMINANT ALLELE it will express itself if present.

RETINOBLASTOMA

- whiteness in pupil → leukocoria - cross eyes - eyes point in opposite directions - blindness/impaired vision in affected eye(s) - eye pain and irritation. - different color irises
